Applied to your life and your home business, Harmonic Wealth is about learning to have an abundance of well-being in the five key areas of life he calls The Five Pillars of Wealth: Financial, Relational, Mental, Physical and Spiritual.

It's important to understand (and act on your understanding) that all five pillars are interdependent. Working to strenthen one will ultimately strengthen them all.

Harmony VS. Balance

Ray encourages us to aim for harmony--not balance. "Balance in this world cannot be achieved, so get over it." (Ray, p. 7) Stop to lighten your load of guilt if you have been giving yourself a hard time about not being balanced. Liberate yourself from the illusion of balance. Instead, James Ray encourages us to:

"Think of a scale. In perfact balance, nothing's happening. There's no dynamism, no life or vibrancy. Now, think of a jazz band in action--the life and vibrancy are palpable, aren't they? The performers in this band have less to do with playing the melody as written and more to do with improvising. They give life to nuance and the music takes shape in the moment. That's harmony. The different parts aren't balanced--sometimes the saxophone leads, Sometimes it's the bass, or the drum or lead guitar. Whatever instrument is out in front at the moment, they're all contribuing, all creating that amazing thing called music. Each musician plays his part of a magical, magnificent whole."

What to do right now:

1. Accept that the life (and business) you have right now is a life you've chosen based upon your values and the actions you've taken toward those values. "We always put energy where our attention is." (Ray, p. 9)

2. Shift your attention to what you truly value...and keep it there. "Energy flows where attention goes."

3. Stop any focus you find you have on lack. When you focus on I don't have it, you'll continue to not have it. Stop your thoughts on I don't have it and re-focus on what you truly value and want.

4. Take stock and then write down the things you want to create in your life, in your business. Write down your dream, what you would create if you knew anything was possible.

5. If you get stuck in what you don't want--can't think of what you do want--make a list of what you don't want in a column down one side of a piece of paper. Then, on the other side, other column, write the polar opposite of what you don't want. Write it down as if you already have it. Example: I don't want to be broke becomes I have financial freedom.

A more detailed inventory of questions addressing each of the Five Pillars of Harmonic Wealth is available in James Arthur Ray's book, Harmonic Wealth: The Secret of Attracting the Life You Want.

Your wealth grows as you grow your life. Pay attention to your physical life and energy, your social and relational life, your spiritual life and connection to inspiration. Become aware of what you are capable of doing and being. While you create your vision and mission for your business, specify your intentions for your whole life, not just your business outcomes in terms of financial gain.

See what you think. Can you believe that your life is meant to be joyous and abundant?
